THE THROAT CHAKRA
FOR THE WINTER SEASON!
The holidays are a time of joy and celebration, but they can also be a season filled with colds, the flu, and other aches and pains. To ward off seasonal illness and boost immunity this wintery season, healing your throat chakra may help. When it’s in balance, energy flows freely throughout our bodies allowing us to express ourselves without restriction or fear. However, physical ailments can occur when it’s out of balance, including stiff neck muscles, headaches, coughs, or sinus issues. Tuning into this important energy center by utilizing techniques such as visualization can help heal any blockages preventing our inner voice from being heard.

POST-HOLIDAYS AND POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS
As the holiday season is coming to a close, many of us take time to reflect on our year and what we’re thankful for. Incorporating affirmations into your daily practice can help bring about a sense of peace, balance, and restoration in your life. Focusing specifically on the Throat Chakra, or Vishuddha in Sanskrit is an excellent way to center ourselves during this busy time of year. It is associated with communication and truth-telling so its healing vibration can be particularly powerful when cultivating healthy connections with others.
To open and balance this chakra during the holidays, try using affirmations like “I feel confident communicating my needs” or “I speak my truth with kindness” throughout your day.
HOLISTIC TOOLS FOR FLU SEASON
Flu season is here, and a wide variety of symptoms can zap your energy and make you feel uncomfortable. Fortunately, several holistic methods help relieve the symptoms of flu season. Holistic treatments are an ideal way to treat the flu because they offer natural remedies that can reduce congestion, headaches, and body aches without relying solely on over-the-counter medications. Plus, many require only readily available items in your home. Here are some holistic remedies for treating flu season quickly and effectively:
Steam inhalation is an easy home remedy that helps clear nasal congestion due to colds or allergies. Adding eucalyptus oil or peppermint oil to a bowl of hot water helps open up your sinuses so you can breathe more easily.
One simple home remedy for a sore throat is to gargle with salt water. All you need is one teaspoon of salt dissolved in eight ounces of warm water. Gargling with this mixture multiple times a day can help reduce inflammation and thin mucus secretions. Another option is to mix equal parts of honey and lemon juice, creating a soothing syrup that can be taken three times per day for relief from throat pain and irritation.

LATEST NEWS:
To keep with the theme, I wanted to utilize my Throat Chakra to share some exciting growth moments for Creative Fire Yoga. I used to think that when someone said “when life gives you lemons make lemonade” was a total idiot. Now, I can say I make the best lemonade on the block at this point in my life. So let’s celebrate the universe having my back and giving me this great opportunity to do what I love in a beautiful space. In January we will be moving locations from Whitehall to the new location 33 Quaker Street Granville, NY 12882. Charlene will be missed by her loving clients but I am happy to come in and continue the flow.

Your legs are the anchor for which you are suspending. Your tosa’s weight. The legs are resisting, the torso relaxing. This is the same forward and back action you took in the dancer’s pose, which is the standing bow pose. The tighter the bow, the more spring you get from the arrow. Use your breath to lift both ends.
