THE THIRD EYE CHAKRA

The Third Eye Chakra, Ajna, translates to “beyond wisdom.” This is considered the sixth chakra, located at the forehead, between the eyes. This chakra opens up your mind to information beyond the material world and the 5 senses.

Extrasensory perception, intuition, and psychic vision, all come from the third eye. This is the chakra to focus on if you are feeling out of touch with your instincts. If you tend to carry a sense of paranoia about what your gut tells you. or overanalyze ordinary experiences. your Third Eye Chakra may be overactive. This chakra influences the pituitary gland. hormones, eyes, and brain.

JULY-UV SAFETY AWARENESS MONTH

U.V. Safety Awareness Month is observed when most of us are getting ready to take advantage of the warmer weather outside. Summer SUN and FUN; picnics, outdoor activities, swimming pools, beaches. and lounging with a drink in your hand and the wind in your hair. Prolonged UV exposure to the skin and eyes can cause irreversible damage let alone increase your risk of skin cancer. So what do we do? PROTECT those sensitive parts – did not match any documents.

A HOLISTIC APPROACH…

U.V. rays from the sun encourage the development of vitamin D in our bodies, which aids in the absorption of calcium. Vitamin D also strengthens our immune system and is vital for healthy bones and teeth. Sometimes too much of a good thing can be bad. Limit your exposure: however when you do step outside in the sun be smart and protect yourself.

DOES A HIGHER S.P.F. MEAN HIGHER PROTECTION AGAINST U.V. RAYS?

The CDC recommends the use of a broad- spectrum sunscreen with a minimum of Sun Protection Factor or S.P.F. 15 before heading outside for daily activities. An S.P.F. of 30 to 50 for use when spending longer time outdoors is enough.

  • Not all sunglasses are created equal
  • U.P.F. clothing can be expensive

DOWNWARD DOG POSE: FOR YOUR THIRD EYE CHAKRA

BENEFITS :

Calms your nervous system, increases overall strength and flexibility, decompresses the spine. tones/strengthens your arms, lengthens, and helps to define your legs. It engages the entire back of your body from the floor to your crown. Since this also has an inversion element it can provide a different perspective to bring into focus, allowing your brain to create new connections.

BODY QUES :

From the child’s pose, you want to stretch your arms forward and place your hands flat on the mat curl your toes under, and send your hips up towards the sky, straightening your legs. Now you can begin to get comfortable in your pose. Don’t be afraid to move and find the right downward dog for you. Ensure your feet are hip-width distance apart as well as your hand stacking under your shoulders keeping your body in alignment. Pay attention to your body and any sensations you may be experiencing.

Press your heels towards the earth. really rooting down. Maybe your heels touch or maybe they don’t. That isn’t what is important here. It’s the act of pressing down. igniting your thighs at the same time. pressing them against the back wall, and your abdomen is firm. Role your shoulder blades down your back creating space in between them. Arms are engaged, pressing down into the mat and forward. Fingers should be spread evenly on the mat and put your weight into your knuckles releasing the strain on your wrists. Now rotate your arms so the pit of your elbows faces up. This will help to release any tension in your upper spine.
